CPC Changes confirmed

OCR (The examination body that deals with the Managers CPC) has confirmed changes that have been brought about by new legislation and also by the Department for Transport:

1. The international and National CPC will merge. Therefore after December 2011 session, all candidates will be examined for the combined (National and International) test paper.

2. The DfT have allowed OCR to offer the current International examinations (current units 6 & 7) side by side the new provision. OCR will only plan to offer these exams for a minimum of a year. This is so candidates that have already gained the National CPC to ‘top up’ to the International CPC without restarting the new qualification.

3. The DfT have decided that candidates who have only achieved a part of the National CPC by December 2011 (for example, have achieved units 1 and 2, but not 4, or 1 nd 5, but not 3 ) will not be able to carry forward those units gained to the new qualifications. Candidates with only partial achievement will need to complete the new qualification in full.
