Recruiting drivers from the EU

datePosted on 10:19, July 4th, 2011 by admin

Upon interviewing drivers from the EU you may encounter some problems when asking the drivers to their DCPC Qualification Card. This is because they do not have one because the EU directive (2003/59) on Driver CPC gave member states a choice on how the completion of initial and periodic training could be certified.

Where a member state chooses, the DCPC can be shown on the driving licence, usually on the reverse of the photo card. You should look for Community Code 95 with an expiry adjacent to the categories covered. In the UK, the Department for Transport chose the option to have a separate driver qualification card (DQC). Ont he reverse of this card the community code 95 with an expiry date will again be shown, alongside the categories of vehicles covered.
